In short: we collect what we need, we don’t sell it, and you can ask us about it any time.
Who we are
ComptoirGris is a product of Bureau St. James LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. References to “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Bureau St. James LLC.
What we collect
When you submit a form on this site or book a call, we collect the information you provide: your name, email, company, role, and the message or context you share with us. We collect this through HubSpot, our customer relationship platform.
When you visit this site, we and HubSpot record basic technical information: IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived. This helps us understand how the site is performing.
We do not collect government identifiers, payment card numbers, health information, or precise location data.
Why we collect it
To respond to inquiries, to schedule conversations, to send you information you’ve asked for, and to operate and improve the site. We do not sell your data.
Cookies, plainly
We use a small number of cookies, all functional or analytical:
- Google Analytics (GA4) cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site – pages visited, time on site, and how you arrived. We use Google’s Consent Mode v2, which means analytics cookies are only placed after you accept them via our cookie banner. If you decline, GA4 still runs in a cookieless mode that collects no personally identifiable information.
- HubSpot cookies that remember whether you’ve interacted with our forms and help us understand site usage.
- A preference cookie that remembers your cookie consent choice for one year.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers. If you would like to refuse all non-essential cookies, click “Decline” on the cookie banner or adjust your browser settings. The site will continue to function normally.
Where your data lives
Form submissions and call bookings are held in HubSpot in the United States. Site analytics may be held in the United States. Customer data inside the ComptoirGris platform itself, when we deploy for a client, lives in that client’s cloud environment, by design.
How long we keep it
We retain inquiries and contact records for as long as our relationship is active and for a reasonable period afterward, after which we delete or anonymize them. If you ask us to delete your data, we will, subject to any legal obligation to retain it.
Your rights
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California (and certain other US states with comparable laws), you have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain uses. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children
This site and ComptoirGris are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we update this notice, we will update the date below. Material changes will be communicated to active contacts.
